 Are you a parent concerned about the problems your child is currently experiencing in his/her life?
Is your child having difficulty understanding and expressing feelings, having a hard time coping with a divorce or separation, or having trouble navigating just being a kid?
Sometimes children do not have the words to describe what is really going on inside of them. That's where play therapy fits in. You may be wondering, “What is play therapy?”. In the way that adults use words to express themselves in psychotherapy, children use play to express themselves. Play is a child’s natural means of expression. In my office I have different types of materials that help to create this expression. These include different art supplies, games, books, sand tray, puppets and role-playing objects and costumes. Children reveal their worries, concerns, problems, wishes and hopes through play. In a safe, therapeutic environment, I help children work through their emotional and behavioral challenges and discover solutions to these issues.
I also meet regularly with parents to find out what is happening in their children’s lives. I see myself and parents as allies working together to help their children. Additionally, I offer support to parents to help them deal with different types of parenting issues and concerns.
At times, I will also meet with children and parents together to help them improve their communication and develop healthier, more satisfying relationships. Please see the Family Therapy page for more information on this type of counseling.

My fee is $100 per play therapy session. You may pay with cash, checks, money orders and credit cards (Visa/MC/Discover). I also take some insurance, and I am an out-of network provider for some insurance plans.
